How does janusGATE FedLink Monitor work?

The typical operating sequence of janusGATE FedLink Monitor is shown in the following diagram:

1. janusGATE FedLink Monitor opens the FedLink Reference Status file which contains the known FedLink status information the last time the application was run. This status
   file is stored locally.
2. janusGATE FedLink Monitor sends a Web request to the FedLink Status webserver that is accessible by agencies on the FedLink network.
3. The FedLink status webserver reads the FedLink status webpage.
4. The FedLink status webserver sends the Web page in the response to janusGATE FedLink Monitor.
5. janusGATE FedLink Monitor examines the information in the FedLink Web page and compares it to that in its reference
   information; it then exports the appropriate information in a format that is suitable for your email gateway.

Importing into the email gateway

The email gateway system administrator would import the file(s) created by janusGATE FedLink Monitor into the email gateway.
