DSD releases iOS hardening guide

The Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) have released the iOS hardening guide.
 
DSD is the Commonwealth authority on the security of information, it provides guidance and other assistance to Australian federal and state agencies on matters relating to the security and integrity of information.
 
This guide provides instructions and techniques for Australian government agencies to harden the security of iOS 4 devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch).
 
The Security Features and Capabilities and Checklist sections of the guide nominate janusGATE Mobile as part of a security solution to provide filtering capabilities between an agency's network and the device.
 
janusGATE Mobile interoperates with other ActiveSync enabled smartphones, such as Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7, Google Android, Nokia Symbian and Blackberry with Exchange clients.

janusSEAL for Outlook version 2.4.0 is now available.
 
Many customers are planning migration to Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7. Some of these customers require x64 deployment of Office, specifically when some of their users have very large Excel spreadsheets.
 
This version of janusSEAL for Outlook boasts the following new features:

  • adds support for Microsoft Outlook 2010
  • available in native x64 build as required for use with Outlook 2010 x64
  • "Compatible with Windows 7" certified
  • ability to customise how security classifications are written to the subject lines of emails (protective markings)
  • ability to set security classification caveats when sending messages
  • improved extensibility interface to enable the creation of more powerful janusSEAL for Outlook Extensions
  • improved Application Programming Interface so janusSEAL for Outlook can be accessed via automation programs (Visual Basic for Applications in Outlook)
